News of a webinar today in the US which ought to interest everybody across the world.

Meanwhile, I am still excited about yesterday’s great news concerning US regulation and the SEC “no action” letter to Social Finance which has paved the way enormously for the SIB/PFS movement to engage with regulators within the States themselves and across the world, to deliver similar pragmatic solutions to help the movement forward. True, that also means SIB issuers et al will have to ensure they demonstrate some core financial understanding but it is still enormously better than the cost and ongoing requirements for being a broker dealer which threatened to strangle the SIB movement, particularly at community level.

Webinar: “Pay for Success: New Capital For Evidence-Based Programming”
The Council of State Governments – Justice Center

Webinar hosted by the National Reentry Resource Center and The Urban Institute

As publicly funded programs and services across the country encounter budgetary constraints, many are looking toward social impact bonds (SIBs) and other “pay for success” financing strategies as possible tools for funding. This webinar will provide an overview of the pay for success funding model—what it is, how it works, its challenges, and examples of current SIB projects across the country within the criminal justice field. In addition, the webinar will also provide an overview of the Social Impact Bond Resource Center, developed by the Urban Institute with the support of the U.S Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance. The Social Impact Bond Resource Center contains presentations and publications that describe the implementation of this new financing mechanism in the justice system.

This webinar will be especially beneficial to criminal justice/behavioral health practitioners, administrators, and service providers who are interested in learning more about this innovative funding mechanism.
