SIBs Help Businesses Make Community Improvement A Wise Investment
Downtown in Business
Career Connect is inviting local businesses and public leaders to see how Social Impact Bonds have brought private investment into dealing with some of the most challenging areas of work.
Round three of the Social Impact Bond scheme is about to begin and to date investors have seen an excellent return on cash they have injected into education, criminal rehabilitation and vocational support programmes.
On Monday, February 16 from 3.30pm at Career Connect’s Strand House headquarters in Liverpool, existing stakeholders in the SIB scheme and strategic partners from public agencies and local businesses are invite to learn more about how the Career Connect SIB project has been a success in making a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable young people as they face the important transition from education to adult and working life.
The SIB brings together funds from the investor world with those of local investors, who have a commitment to and interest in local communities and its success is underwritten by HM Government.
In return for funding these programmes investors can get a return on investment based on how the schemes perform. This means that investors are able to help improve the lives of people within our community and make their investment pay.
One project that has already demonstrated the benefit of SIBs is New Horizons, operated by Career Connect, which offers a wide range of support services to 14-19 year-olds in Merseyside.
Any business that wants to learn more about SIBs and how to get involved can attend the event, which takes place from 3.30pm-5pm. To register for a place please contact info@careerconnect.org.uk
